Configuring Eudora Pro to use GroupWise Directory Services (LDAP)

To configure Eudora Pro 4 or higher to GroupWise Directory Services (LDAP) for directory information:

1. Startup Eudora and select the "Tools" menu and then "Directory Services."

2. In the window that comes up, there will be a listing of Protocols in the upper right. Select "LDAP" and click the "New Database" button.

3. In the window that comes up, give the LDAP listing a name, such as "GroupWise Directory Services." For the host name, enter: hsmail2.medctr.ohio-state.edu

4. Click on the "Search Options" tab and in the "Search Base" field, delete any entry in this field and enter:

O=OSU_MC

5. In the Word-wise Search Filter field, delete any entry in this field and enter:

(cn=*^0*)

6. Click OK and in the Databases window at the lower left, a listing for GroupWise Directory Services will show up. If you gave the listing a different name in step 3, then that will be the name that shows up.

7. To use the server to do a directory lookup, select the "Tools" menu, then "Directory Services. Place a check in the box next to the GroupWise LDAP Server in the Databases window. Then, in the "Query" field at the upper left of the window, type the name of the person you want to find.

8. Click the "Start" button and your query will run with the results being displayed below the "Query" field. Just click on a name in the list to see the information for that person.
